Gallery D'Art Francais is honored to offer the prestigious Twentieth Century French Contemporary Impressionist H. Claude Pissarro. Pissarro was born in Brittany in 1935.
His richly painted canvases, punctuated with small scale figures and solidly constructed buildings are a reminder of his debt to his famous grandfather and teacher Camille Pissarro.
Pissarro developed his own unique style by achieving a fulfillment of the pure Impressionist who seeks to render his scenes through lush pastels colors silhouetted against rich backgrounds and colorful skies. By building his canvas with layer upon layer of color he achieves an unusual woven affect which runs the entire canvas and creates a textured surface with strong visual impact.
Pissarro is now being sought by major museums and galleries. He is under the patronage of Prince, Rainier of Monaco. A new museum in Fountainbleau will be dedicated solely to Pissarro
