Andree Douville was born December 10th, 1966 in the Normandy region of France. At twelve years of age, Douville exhibited a keen talent for drawing. She quickly became well versed in many media , including watercolor, charcoal, and ink. Douville's career took off when she began painting in oil. Her painting flourished and in 1997 she was invited to participate in a regional Salon de Peinture. Since then she has received much acclaim, and has won several awards at various prestigious salons throughout France. Douville is heavily influenced by knighted French master Michel Henri and his renowned student and fellow Normand painter Michel Girard. In 1999, Douville was granted an exhibition in the atelier of marine master painter Jaques-Rene Lernon. She still exhibits there today.
