Antoine Borelli was born in northwest Italy just outside of Turin on November 12,1937. Borelli demonstrated artistic talent as a youth, but did not attend art school until he was an adult because his parents, being laborers and having five children to support, could not afford the tuition.  When Borelli was 22 he received a scholarship to the Instituto Moderno di Cultura Artistica. Here, Borelli found enjoyment studying expressionism, symbolism, and post-impressionism. After graduating from this institution, Borelli attended the Turin Conservatory, specializing in open line painting. With the help of his professors Giovani Delluso and Enzo Martanni, Borelli received his first commissioned assignment from the Regio Theatre in Turin. Borelli is now 66 years old, and continues living and painting in Turin, Italy.
