Julie Juneau, originally from Charleston, South Carolina, made New
Orleans her home in 1989. She is the owner of Nomad Collection, a
ten year old business featuring Balinese sarongs, Tuareg jewelry as
well as selling her own photography. As an accomplished actress,
Julie lived in Miami and Los Angeles working in theater, movies, and
television and radio productions. Julie has traveled extensively
throughout the world including a two-and-a-half year solo adventure
from Dakar, Senegal to Capetown, Africa. This journey by land (boat,
barge, train, donkey---ie. any means possible!) through 23 African
countries made the African continent and people, music, culture,
wildlife and geography especially dear to Julie's heart. In 2003,
she spent one year volunteering with The International Trust in
Southern Africa. After years of admiring glass and its artists,
Julie began to create her own glass art in 1999. She says, " I was
drawn to the beauty, sensuality, smoothness, and feel of glass
itself...Glass is an adventure and I love adventure. I am especially
inspired and influenced by the colors and rhythms of life." Her work
is already in many collections including those of Dustin Hoffman,
Dr. Ralph Lupin, Gerry and Murray Valene and the Ritz-Carlton New
Orleans and is displayed throughout the United States. Galleria
Bella is proud to be her exclusive dealer.
