Paul Verny was born in 1941. A Parisian, he often escapes the city to
paint the beautiful garden scenes from which he gets his
inspiration. From the green meadows of Normandy to the landscapes of
the South of France, by way of family gardens where he researches,
and of course, Paris, and the lovely Jardins de Bagatelle, which he
loves so much. Paul Verny is a contemplator; he paints slowly to get
a better feel of his subject's emotions. It takes several weeks
before he is completely satisfied with a painting. His production is
limited so that each painting is a work of art in its entirety. He
has organized many exhibitions both in France and abroad where his
work is becoming more and more appreciated. "Each one of my works is
a part of myself, made from sun, shadow, and contemplation."
