Pietro Griffo was born in 1934 in Itlay, where he attended the Italian Institute of Fine Art. After graduation, Pietro found immediate succes, and exhibited throughout his native Italy. He specialized in figuratives, landscapes, and nudes.  In the 1950's, two remarkable events changed Griffo's life and art. One was the meeting of and marriage to his beloved "Parisian Mademoiselle", and the other was the introduction and subsequent tutelage to the famed Antoine Blanchard.  Edouard Cortes' subject matter and influence through Blanchard's style produced the heir apparent to Paris street paintings, and the wonderful Griffo paintings we have viewed since 1960. Pietro Griffo lived in his adopted Paris and native Italy simultaneously for the next thirty five years until his untimely death in the summer of 1995.
