Vincent Richieux was born in the southwest of France in Aquitain de Bordeaux. Passionate about his origins, Richieux's painting is inspired by the odors and lights of the beaches on the Atlantic coast. In college he studied marketing, which exposed him to graphic artists and illustrators. He began painting with more and more frequency, participating in three exhibitions, until he decided to dedicate his life to the art form. Richieux lists pop culture, comic strips, and life near the sea as some of his influences. He derives from these influences his use of striking primary colors, which he works with in layers and planes. He employs the pallette knife technique along with distinct brush strokes to create his works.
